The receiver part takes a 9 volt and the sending unit works on the house
current at the outlet already.
The following is from the Lowes.com web site. Gardner Bender is a well known
brand in what is probably medium level quality electrical equipment. Having
used either this tool or ones like it, I can promise you the ad isn't quite
accurate because it doesn't get exact enough to single out just one breaker.
But you can get within 2 and I always flip it off to be sure.
