Since the big box stores usually contract with local contractors anyway, you may wish to get some quotes from the local guys. I will also highly recommend Angie's list, www.angieslist.com. You have to pay to subscribe, but you can then get recommendations for all kinds of services in your area. I found a plasterer, a mason, and a furnace installer via Angie's list and they all lived up to their recommendations on the list.
