Take all the furniture out. The carpet is held on by little pieces of wood called tack strips laid around the edge of the floor. These are essentially half inch wide strips of wood with a series of tacks jutting up, be careful as they are extremely sharp. So, get all the furniture out and then you can just pull the carpoet up from the far wall, rolling it up as you go. There's also most likely what's called a cushion which is a thin sheet of padding underneath the carpet, this needs to go too. ----- Original Message ----- From: aadorno1 To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, June 08, 2008 6:35 PM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] taking carpet off of floor. hi list in my bedroom there is a carpet that needs to be taken up. what is the best way to do this should I remove the furniture and cut the carpet in to pieces or can I just cut around it and do this with out removing the furniture in other words I move the furniture a little bit and cut up the carpet as I move furniture around? all help will be appreciated. thanks so much.
