Well there is no rule saying all doors must be equal. Usually though there will be a small rail like projection above the floor although it might be possible that it slides in a groove but this arrangement would tend to collect a lot of debris and dust which would grind away with use. I would think there is some sort of glide, nylon or something to keep it moving reasonably smoothly.
