My late father-in-laws home had a similar sliding door where the screen door just slid in the track. The glass door had wheels but not the screen. One picnic he decided to leave the screen open rather than having everyone fighting with it. After a while someone else closed it. What a surprise when I walked through the screen. I wasn't the first to do it and joked I was the only one with an excuse. After that he had strips of black tape placed on the screen so people could see when it was closed. ----- Original Message ----- From: "rs_denis" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, July 20, 2008 11:48 AM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] Re: need help hanging patio screen
I rememgber a screen that slid along the bottom track. The track groove had to be cleaned to insure smooth motion. The top could be lifted into its track allowing one to adjust the position in the bottom groove. It was tricky raising the door a small amount, moving the bottom until positioned over the correct groobe, then letting the door settle back down. There were two doors which passed each other and each had to be correctly positioned to allow smooth operation. Wheels would have been nice, but this was a while back and the wheel might not have been invented at that time <grin.> Ron Denis ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike Rusk To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, July 20, 2008 11:02 AM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] Re: need help hanging patio screen If you feel along the bottom of the door, do you notice any spacing which would accomodate wheels? If you examine the top edge of the bottom part of the frame, there should be a couple screws, a couple inches in from either side. These will allow you to adjust the wheel or if you need to replace the wheels. I can't imagine there wouldn't be any wheels on such a screen. ----- Original Message ----- From: Troy Sullivan To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, July 20, 2008 5:27 AM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Re: need help hanging patio screen Weird, this one doesn't seem to have rollers. It just seems to slide a long the door frame. The only thing that has wheels is the glas door part. Maybe this screen is suppose to have them? This is also how you remove it from the assembly, you lift it high into the slot then swing the bottom out. > > Hope this helps. > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Troy Sullivan > To: [email protected] > Sent: Saturday, July 19, 2008 9:35 PM > Subject: [BlindHandyMan] need help hanging patio screen > > > Hello new member. > My name is Troy Sullivan and I'm from columbus ohio. > I joined to learn how to fix things myself. > I have a patio screen which got knocked off the tracks and I was > wondering if I was could put it back on myself. > Here's a little bit of info.
