Hi All,
A few years ago I built a wishing well planter for the front porch. Karen
places a 10" pot of inpatients during the summer and yellow mums during the
fall. When we went away she had to get a neighbor to water them for her. I
had one idea but wonder if it will work. I thought about taking a six foot
piece of cotton rope and threading it through some plastic tubing. Then
coiling some of the rope in the bottom of the pot and then transplanting the
flowers. The other end of the rope and tube would be placed in a gallon jug
of water. I wonder if the water wicking would supply enough water to the
plant?
I did see some instructions using some aquarium air pump and plastic
manifolds to make a timed watering system. If the rope trick would work it
would be much easier and cheaper to build.
Please visit my home page; it is motivational, inspirational and humorous
with many resources.
