You probably need to vastly improve your abdominal muscles and learn to hold your pelvis into a little more posterior tilt. with the steeper incline you are forced to bend a little more forward thus bringing the pelvis into more tilt and taking your back a little further out of extension. this is what the abdominal muscles are supposed to do for you.
