Victor,  essentially, if you raise one end of the treadmill by 60 inches, 
the angle between the treadmill and the vertical is zero degrees.  so the 
percent slope would be 60 inch rise divided by zero inch run, anything 
divided by zero is infinity.  So, if you raised the treadmill straight up, 
you would have an infinite percent slope.

Not sure I follow you with the arc thing.  There are no arcs here, just 
three angles and three sides.  Rise, run, and hypotenuse, where the 
hypotenuse is the length of the treadmill.
