the F.M. antenna question, yes, there should be a number of antennas that will do better than what was supplied with the center. Depends on how far you are from broadcast stations, and whether you can run coax outside to a high point like roof. If you're in an apartment and can spend a little money, but can't go outdoors,a so-called active F.M. antenna is a good bet. These are small and intended to be on a table or shelf. They need power and are a small antenna with a preamplifier in them. Radio shlock should make one.
Shlock should also make an outdoor antenna that would be mounted on a small mast on the roof, but this requires running coaxial cable out and up. If you can get T.V. rabbit ears with 75 ohm output, a round cable not flat twin lead, they may do better, but will probably need fiddling with to get best results. There are gizmos that actually hook the power lines to the antenna connection and use the random wire lengths as an antenna, but they don't work unless you're close to the transmitters, ant not well even then. There are also so-called folded dipoles, looks like a capital T made of twinlead. these can be put atop a curtain rod or some such, but require a 300 ohm to 75 ohm matching transformer to work with your center. Just a brief intro, more when we have a better idea how much you need, and/or how much fuss you want to go too.
