I've never installed them with cement tile but I do know the guard goes
under the tile and snaps in place inside the gutter. I'm thinking they are
36 inches long though. Be careful when buying them because there are so
many different styles out there. I made the mistake of buying one that had
fiberglass screen over it to keep pine straw and small kids from falling
into the gutter. Trouble is, it also forms a concave surface and lots of
junk settles on top of the screen making water back up.

The best ones I've seen have a solid flat surface on top and a rounded front
edge. The water follows the shape across the top and around the edge. It's
cool watching it actually work it's like a magnet directing water. I know
water isn't magnetic but the physics are so cool. Nothing settles on top of
the guard either which makes them all the better.
