Out of curiosity, how many volts are you talking about in this underground wire for your electric fence?

I will replace the plastic jar with a glass one that I have found, and will get a glazier's drill. I feel more confident of the durability of the glass than I do of the plastic. I will also spread some silicon around the holes to keep any water out. Thank you all for your helpful suggestions.
