Out of all the ideas posted including mine, I like that one the best. I 
think that is what intrigued me about the list so many different 
ideas.Before I retired from the computer systems analysts business, I always 
stated that you could give a problem to 16 different people and come up with 
16 different workable solutions.
The hot glue would not break down in our lifetimes unless the wire got hot 
enough to melt it.

you can also fill something like a film can with hot glue and then not
worry about it.
