Dale, thanks, I actually have silicone. I knew I could use it to sort of waterproof things but hadn't thought about it for this particular use. So, thanks for the idea.

You may be able to push the entire thing into the wall a short distance but I suspect it has been nailed some place along the walls of the box. If not, I would be tempted to just hold the frame a little away from the wall with a stick or something, force a bit of calk, something like silicone is what I like, it sticks like mad then gently press the frame into that bed of goo and with a wet finger wipe around the frame to smooth away any of the squeezed out calk and make a nice air tight transition. I noticed today that the frame is sort of detaching itself from the plaster wall it's mounted on. It's not apparent to me how it was affixed in the first place, I can't find screws or other fasteners. I guess I can put some glu on it and hope for the best, though my gluing skills are pretty lacking as in I tend to use too much. What would be a good glu to use? I have the basic Elmers, and I believe some carpenter's glu as well along with construction adhesive. Thanks for any thoughts.
