The cheapest is probably the peal and stick vinyl tile. Real easy to put down. I have seen it for $0.19 per square foot. You can use vinyl tile glue and it will last longer. Simple to put down, and simple to maintain. You can find that snap together flooring pretty cheap as well, but I don't think it belongs in a kitchen, or any wet area, but that is my opinion. Some have had good luck with it. Pretty easy to put down. There are several other options, but these should get you started.
