Thanks bob and all. This suggestion you had about the insert with the chain pull is what I had decided on earlier in the day. Have to either track down the old one I used to have or go buy a new one, but I think that is the way to go for me. No one ever needs to go up into my attic without me anyway. I spent today cleaning it out and am storing all of my wood up there along with a few other garage related things.
Thanks again, Matt ----- Original Message ----- From: Bob Kennedy To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, March 03, 2009 7:11 PM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] What wattage bulb? Probably 100 is most useful for your sighted friends. What you might consider doing is threading a chain pull switch into the socket. That way on and off is controlled by the chain pull and it won't be effected by any other switches turning it on or off. ----- Original Message ----- From: Matt To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, March 03, 2009 3:07 PM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] What wattage bulb? Hello, There's a fixture to screw just a naked light bulb into up in my attic. It's hardly ever used of course, but each time I have used it for a sighted person who needed to be up there, Next time I went to use it, it would be burned out. Either it is being flipped on on accident by someone looking for a light in the garage, and it is being left on and out of sight out of mind, or I am perhaps putting the wrong wattage bulb in it? Does anyone know what the best wattage for this aplication would be? I have no idea.
