Hi David, Bob, & Dale, I have been using the Classco brand Talking Caller ID boxes for years and we also have the Panasonic cordless phones with talking caller ID. The phones announces the names and the box announces the numbers. David & Bob, could you please tell us which brand caller ID boxes you use? It would be nice to program names into the box and have just 1 particulaar device screaming at us who is calling. When people come to our home and are unfamiliar with talking devices, the phone rings, the devices start squawking, and it about scares the crap out of the unsuspecting guest. Damn it is funny when it does! Thanks much, take care. Mike

No you do not need a splitter as there are in and out jacks on both units. If you get the same model as I have which will cause me to check as that information escapes me at the moment I will send you the instructions that I copied down when my wife took the time to read them to me. She says that we got them from independent living aids and they are still listed in there. She doesn't recall the model either at the moment. I have been searching and most of what I read the units only speak the phone number but you can add your own information. Also to hook them up do you need a splitter cable or is there a piggy back setup on the units? If there is one that also speaks the name what model or make is it? --- Please visit my home page; it is motivational, inspirational and humorous with many resources for the blind. http://www.geocities.com/lenny_mchugh/ Lenny ------------------------------------ Send any questions regarding list management to: [email protected] To listen to the show archives go to link http://www.acbradio.org/pweb/index.php?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=33&MMN_position=47:29 Or ftp://ftp.acbradio.org/acbradio-archives/handyman/ The Pod Cast address for the Blind Handy Man Show is. http://www.acbradio.org/news/xml/podcast.php?pgm=saturday Visit The Blind Handy Man Files Page To Review Contributions From Various List Members At The Following address: http://www.jaws-users.com/JAWS/handyman/ Visit the archives page at the following address http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ If you would like to join the JAWS Users List, then visit the following address for more information: http://www.jaws-users.com/ For a complete list of email commands pertaining to the Blind Handy Man list just send a blank message to: [email protected]!
