I cannot explain the pattern needed although it is in my head. that
groove you mentioned is meant if you want to change from cane seats
to a rush seat. Rush, maybe you iknow is basically pressed down to
seal. we used to use Elmers glue back in the 60's. te supplier of your
cane will have a few basic patterns you can use. I do Not suggest you
use plastic. , unless those chairs would be on display only. Lee
