Hi Ian, I tried painting a friend's ceiling with roller, under her directions once years ago---- She stopped me and said thanks for beeing willing to help! <GRIN> Were I in your situation, I'd wash all the walls and ceilings down with TriSodiumPhospate. this is a good prep for painting. Then I'd just be honest with prospective buyers and say "I didn't think I'd do a good enough job for your needs so I just left it as clean as I could, You'll probably want to repaint anyhow.
