Thanks I figured it out ok. I am a little disappointed in it's accuracy. .
When closed the rod is flush with the front. 8 clicks bring the raised part
out 1 and 16 inches. There is about a 1/16 inch behind the raised portion
and the front of the unit. And 7 clicks have the raised part a little
inside. It is not a big deal but not as accurate as my very old rotomatic.
It is much easier to improve than design. I also would have made the bar by
the knob on one side the same length as the front so you could have it
sitting flat for an inside measurement.
I would still recommend it to another blind individual.

Lenny, did you figure the click rule out? What do you think of it so far?

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] click rule question

Hello and Merry Christmas.
I received a click rule for one of my gifts. I don't understand the design
of the tool. Under the knob there is a piece of metal that sticks down about

a half inch or more. Near the other end there is also a flat piece of metal
that is about 1/8 inch. Because of the difference it is impossible to set it

level on a surface. How do you work it for an accurate inside measurement?
