Well I just finished upgrading my drill press. It is a Grizzly 7943 12 speed. It had a 5/8 inch chuck. When at the showroom I purchased a 1/2 inch chuck for it. So I replaced the belts with the power twist link and replaced the chuck then installed the table. I can not believe how much the old belts really made it vibrate. I suspect that it will also significantly cut down on quill travel. Also I never ever used a 5/8 inch bit and the 1/2 chuck closes all the way so some small bits can be used. In the past to use very small bits I had an old 1/4 inch chuck and with a coupler was able to place into the 5/8 inch chuck.
