Hi, Those blades are to turn without resistant. They direct the food into the cutters. I would bet you will have to loosen the material that is caught in the cutters. U can use a wrench that came with the unit or use a socket that fits the nut inside the unit. by placing it in the insides of the unit. I believe the nut should be turned clockwise. RJ
