Bluegrass ain't new to me but this list is! I was thrilled to see that Mr. Stanley had a mailing list set up. Many, many a time I would listen to Ralph Stanley. Bill Monroe, Mac Wiseman and others growing up in Kentucky. It was a simpler time back then, I am the youngest of ten kids from Kentucky and my blood runs blue.

I was pretty happy to see that bluegrass enjoys quite a following
here in the Washington DC area, especially on Sunday mornings from 8am onward when stained glass Bluegrass is played on our local
NPR station. I can think of very few things as heavenly as Mr. Stanley
and gospel.

Of course when I can I also push Mr. Stanley's music through my web
site at stocktheory.com. We made it a musical pick of ours at
http://www.stocktheory.com/index.php?module=htmlpages&func=display&pid=9
It tended to suprise a lot of people since we also recommend punk and harder rock
but Mr. Stanley's music has a soul to it and a downright beautiful one at that.

And lastly (and I promise I'll shut up) I got to make my mother's dream come true when she saw Mr. Stanley play at the Opry's birthday celebation last October.
That was no small thing for her. Ralph Stanley is the Beatles to my mother (if that sounds right).

You could safely say that yes indeedy I am a fan as well as my mother.
Happy Holidays to you all. I really look forward to hearing more you folks.
