first of all - does anyone know what kind of guitar keith whitley played
when he was with ralph in the early 70's? - it has a wonderful sound for
example on Rank Stranger & Wildwood Flower, very mellow.
second - wouldn't it be great if mr. stanley would have some of those great
old albums rereleased on cd's? this is the perfect time (with so many
people looking at bluegrass for the first time and with so many people going
back to it) for some of the early stuff. yes, i know that there are
several collections out there - some of him & carter, and some with roy lee
& ricky & keith. i have a couple of them, but not all of the songs
on the old 33's are on the new cd's.
maybe if we all write in our favorite "oldie" album they'll put some of
them out on cd!
(my favorite is Something old, something new, some of
katy's mountain dew with shotgun slade - great harmony, 6 more miles - some
of the best banjo ever played, who will sing for me - great keith whitley)
What's yours?
