Dear "Renee":

I don't understand.  How would my "bitterness" have anything to do with your question regarding why RALPH keeps up the
"Hills of Home Cemetery" all year long for only one festival.

*  Dear "Doris",
It doesn't sweetheart.  It merely 'sounded' like you were bitterly complaining that you guys had full financial responsibility
of keeping it up all by yourself.  I am a Stanley from F.L's side and yes,  I got defensive of him and my side.
That,  I won't apologize for.   Heck,  I'd defend you too but you may be a Defense Attorney and capable of it yourself.  ;o)
I'm sorry you've been hurt.   I'm sorry you lost your Daddy *way* too early.   I'm sorry for any wrongdoings you've encountered.
I can also sit and speak in a *calm* manner, without screaming, and rationalize things out ... with an open heart.
And I'll top that with Another pinch of apology.  Apologizing when one's wrong is good for the soul.
I'm sorry I "thought" you sounded bitter about money, responsibility and F.L's choices in his life.

DID WE LOVE PAPAW F. L. STANLEY-YOU BETCHA' GAL, WE LOVED OUR PAPAW STANLEY A GREAT DEAL.
<snip>  Papaw Stanley had already made his arrangements to be buried next to his first wife, Louisa McCoy Stanley.
His family respected his wishes just as any of us would want our wishes on that issue respected.

* I'm glad you've forgiven him.   I'd "shout" it from the rooftops too.   :o)

Sorry-I won't apologize for my college & law school education-MY PARENTS WANTED THIS FOR ME DESPERATELY & I WORKED LIKE A DOG TO GET IT.  I'm extremely proud to be a lawyer-married to a doctor.

* I never got angry for your accomplishments or bragging rights.  The story was good, but it "sounded" like you were
thrashing a dead man,  and I didn't take kindly to it.   I responded in defense of him.   I'm just sitting here "hearing" you talk
about it.
Congratulations.   Atta' girl !!   I said we were strong, innovative and "many" of us Stanley's are success stories.
I'll chalk it up to determination that was taught to us.  Oh, and my callouses come from work around this ranch.
My callouses are my pride in hard work.  They are a *choice*.   :o)

I merely wanted to answer your question.  And yes, my siblings & I feel our father's founding of the Stanley Brothers has been forgotten & he died penniless, never having received the recognition he so richly deserved.  It's one thing to START a band, keep it going for 20 years & get nothing financially in return-THAT'S CARTER STANLEY'S LIFE STORY.

* Honey, I understand that too.  However it wasn't my question to begin with.  Someone else's question made me (along with
many others) curious.    And you need to try to understand one thing, please.   ""Carter *is* a legend.""   People  *still* talk
about your Daddy. Anytime Ralph's name is mentioned around an elder, they *always* bring up Carter.  He still lives on
in the hearts of Many.  He's an unseen icon standing right next to Ralph. He's the one that urged Mount'n Music to be
heard all over and live on.   Nobody has forgotten, nor will anybody forget him.
Money doesn't buy the reputation that your Daddy has.  A good name is far better than any riches.   And the stories my
Dad has on Carter and Ralph are *good* stories.  Nobody is a saint and we all have to agree on that.   However,  the
stories I have heard have been "fun" stories full of family laughter.  If'n anybody ever said anything with a hint of disrespect
about your Daddy... I'm go Irish-redhead on them too.  <chuckles>

It's also pretty horrible to die a grisly death at age 41 knowing you've worked hard to leave your children enough to keep them financially secure for life-and to have that stolen from them.  It's quite another to pick up where someone else has done all the preparation & basic foundation hard work to establish a band & cry all the way to the bank.  I think enough has now been said on that subject, so let's let sleeping dogs lie.

*   I know that honey.   He had a hard life and it unfortunately took its toll on him.   I know that.
The rest doesn't sound quite cordial, but okay.  (elbows ya' for a giggle)  You're an attorney.  That's how ya'll speak.  Lol.
May I say I hold *high, high* respect for *any* Stanley.   Ralph included.  I respect you because you are a Stanley.
My respect for Ralph does not come higher than that for - say - my Mammie Stanley just because he has kept Mount'n Music alive and he's become famous in doing so.  I'm just thankful Mount'n Music has been kept alive period !
I respect Stanley's and All kin period.  I'd be afraid not to. That's the way I was raised.  Blood is thicker than water.
Even if that blood cries all the way to any bank.   Money didn't make me who I am .... my blood relatives and God did.
You have every right to brag ... on the Stanleys.   <grin>

If you're kin to Ralph Stanley, my Dad's only full brother, you're probably distantly related to me as well.  Families should stick together, no matter what.  I'm quite proud of  all my Stanley ancestors-and my Kiser, German ruling ones on Mama's side of the family as well.  They were all good people-with good hearts and that's what matters in the end.
Cordially---note that---Cordially, not bitterly or nastily, but Cordially,

* ((hugs))  Hi then kin.  :o)     Oh,  and my George is a Kentucky-German too.   Phew !!!!!  ;o)   Now I "unnerstand". lol
We'll leave my Irish aside, and your German aside and have some fun !
C'mon honey..... Laugh.    Stanley's also taught us that Laughter and Humor is essential.  Absolutely essential.

From one sweetheart to another ...   ((((huuug))))
