Yes oke But what i mean with this is this vps only hostst 3 sites over 2 vps One vps only has one site That site has a averadge of 16 Mbs But yes you are right this site only uses 4 Gb of ram on this moment
extra memory is Handy for caching etc personal i put in a little bit more than 4 Gb i have seen several standard BO/BQ servers in the past that uses 4 Gb and more memory 4 x 2 Gb is not so expensive anymore and yes that is not 16 Gb :-) -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Namens Chris Gebhardt - VIRTBIZ Internet Verzonden: vrijdag 6 augustus 2010 12:08 Aan: BlueOnyx General Mailing List Onderwerp: [BlueOnyx:05189] Re: Min/Max Requirements Steffan wrote: > Correct, > I have aventurin OpenVZ server, 2 quad core cpu 2.4 CPU > 48 GB memory > Running 2 vps with 3 big sites > Uses 20 Gb of memory OK, but a single webserver is a somewhat different than a VPS host. I was pointing out that for the average BX system 16GB RAM is likely far more than necessary. Although it is possible to have the 32-bit kernel address the RAM, some 32-bit modules (ie: Apache) may not make as efficient use (if they make any use at all) of the large RAM. On a simple BX webserver (standalone, we were not talking virtualized), even one that does considerable traffic, my experience tells me that 4GB is usually plenty, and I wouldn't sink more than 8GB into it. The performance won't be impacted. Then again, I'd also never pick a power-hog dual quad-core as a simple web hosting system, either.
