Hi Chris I'd also second the vote of thanks for all the hard work on Blueprint - I've used it successfully for a number of projects. Sorry for the late reply here - only just noticed the thread...
Regarding 960gs I originally took a look at this framework to replace my use of Jello Piefecta - but whilst having the flexibility of Blueprint. Well, since the grid is either 16 or 12 col I think it lost some flexibility over BP there, but I like the way it has a default left and right margin on the first and last column. Also on the whole prefer the class naming convention (suffix and prefix instead of prepend/append) but that's just personal I guess. It is a smaller bit of CSS but mainly because it doesn't have a 'push/pull' set of classes by default; but these are available if you look up the version for Drupal (which is under consideration for core theme in Drupal 7 - see http://www.dvessel.com). fluid960gs also adds some base JavaScript functionality using Mootools. I use jQuery and there's a fork for that too. I also didn't like the way it has no upper or lower limit on the size in the fluid version (standard 960 is fixed width - and as the title suggests geared to 960px - so more work to adjust the fixed width than with BP). fluid960gs with Jello! In order to get over the limitation of the layout either collapsing completely, or expanding ridiculously I did a quick hack and merged in the few core lines of code from Jello (Mike Purvis - http://uwmike.com/) and it now seems to be pretty good. If you would like a copy of my fluid-960-jello-jQuery version of the framework then just flick me a line and I can send over a zip of the lot. Needs some tweaks for IE/Chrome on the col-spacings but generally seems good to go...
