Do you believe the bug should be an issue for both Iface.mutateBatch and
Iface.mutate ? I didn't try the test case I gave you with mutateBatch instead
of mutate, but the application at work has a batch mode of updating the index
that uses mutateBatch and we haven't observed it cause corruption. If you
think the bug should impact mutateBatch as well, then we probably just got
lucky by not hitting the necessary data conditions. It might be worth changing
the test program to use mutateBatch to see if that fails as well.
How about the MR-style BlurMutate kind of update? Does that also use the buggy
code?
