Thanks for all the info Tom, so for my slow response I have been a bit busy for
the past couple of days. I will investigate the hash
e9dce5402d2d2ff78c04432fb1a14b073e4f110d to try and determine the root cause.
There was at least one known issue with HdfsKeyValueStore that would cause
issues if the system was shutdown before a sync occurred but I don't think this
is related.

I will have a chance to look into the issue on Saturday 9/5 and report back. I
will make an announcement once I know more what when and where the bug exists
in the code base. As this thread is updated the emails of the comments are
posted to the blur-dev mail. So if they watching the dev list they will up to
date with what is being discussed.
