I forgot where I bought my original halon extinguisher, but I think I paid something like $120 for it. Anyway, I was flipping through the globalcomputer.com catalog and I see this "Halotron I Fire Extinguishers" item. Hmmm...2.5lb bottle for $89.95. It didn't mention the fact that it's "Halon", but since it's in the same catalog for computer equipment, one might deduce that it would be wire safe ;) Anyway, the Stock No for the 2.5lb bottle was ZAC33415 and for the 5lb bottle ZAC33416. Just thought I might pass on this tidbit of info. Oh wait...I just looked a little closer at the ad, it says: - - EPA Approved - - Effective suppression of Class B and C Fires - - Acceptable alternative to Halon 1211 So I guess it's not the same as the one I got. Oh well. FWIW, Chester ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Please let me know how you are liking it as I am considering an F650 to commute with on the upcoming nice spring days and as my very first motorcycle. K40 made a phone campaign blitz of all BMW dealers to sell the crap unit with the little stuck on BMW logo bubble badge. They'd send one out on approval. I tested it for our dealership and called K40's dealer response line to tell them their system was unable to detect squat while the Escort (I don't think it was my Passport back then) was trying to get my attention from the passenger floor board. The later version of the K40 had a little badge saying "designed for BMW" as I recall. The logo police figured it out. Remember their guarantee back then? They'd pay for your ticket. I don't think anyone managed to give them their points, though. - -Phil Marx ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Jan 2000 21:22:48 -0800 (PST) From: Chester Wong <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [uuc] Wiper element refills I noticed that the right windshield wiper isn't doing such a great job lately. I've seen some advertisements for GE silicone wiper elements that last a long time and don't have the negatives associated with rubber. Any ideas?
