I got a new reverse light switch (I can get the part number for you if you need it..it's in my car) that was something like 9 or 12 dollars at the dealer, and it took about one hour. It has 2 prongs for the wires that plug onto it and one may have become disconnected, or the switch is bad. Should be a $12-$15 replacement part. Lotus was trying to sell my then-employer on active-control concepts (suspensions, noise control, body and engine mounts, all sorts of cool things). I was part of a development team on vaguely-related project, pulled in to evaluate that stuff because that was my area. I always wondered why we couldn't make a sellable product with that technology.
