The E36 conversion requires some custom parts and a certain amount of adaptation to fit in a non-M E30. Zionsville sells a kit for this purpose. With their kit or some similar bits, yes, it will bolt in. But you should not expect to just buy an E36 rack, take it home and stick it in your E30. Before I went to my first school this past fall I read the policy cover to cover more than once and I didn't see anything related to this type of event....not even racing events actually. Though it was risky, I didn't call them to confirm any of this. I would suggest doing this and I'm going to before this season. In fact, I'd be interested to hear what you find out. My old 82 911SC had a bad first synchro and I would always have to engage second before being able to get in first...or at least, most of the time. Could it also be the fork?
