What worked for you? After replacing taillight gaskets, I was still searching for the source of moisture. I found that water was seeping underneath the trunk lid gasket up by the rear window. The water was running underneath the gasket until it snuck back out near the rear, dripping on the top of the taillight. I found this by running a hose on the rear window on a nice sunny day. Eventually the leak showed up. I'm getting wear on the side bolster from rubbing while getting in and out of the car. The cracks that I'm seeing are showing up white??? Is that the color of the leather or is that some kind of backing that the leather is glued to? I hope I've not worn out the leather...the seats look fine with the exception of the bolster edge. Any advice is appreciated. It was a definite wa-wa-wa-wa-wa-wa sound, and when I put it in second (manual) it ran and pulled normally. I couldn't max second out because I was on a public road. As it was before I realized it I was doing 80 and had to back way off. When I got home I consulted the manual, and it said the maximum permissible RPM was 6100. Why was I shy of that, is my tach off? Anyone have this happen? All answers greatly appreciated. On the passenger side it's not very loud like I think your describing. Mine goes away if you crack the window slightly and I don't have wind noise. On the drivers side it's a loud pop, but the bump has to be alot bigger to cause it to make the noise (like driving over a "road hump")...BUT I have noticed that my car has "Camaro door" - - this is where the doors sag...so they hit the latch and really rest hard on it when closed. It you close the doors on a newer coupe they don't hit. I pointed this out to my dealer last time and they "gooped" up my seals with silicone spray (which helped for about 2 days). BTW: It doesn't bother me nearly as much anymore...I only drive the car on weekends now and I just listen to the stereo a little louder and wait for the day the E46 M3 arrives!!! I was replacing a fuel hose this weekend, and when I took off the rubber intake bellows I noticed a fine film of oil inside the air meter and the throttle body. I don't remember seeing anything but dry metal before now. Anyone got any clues as to what's happening here? I can't imagine that it's a good thing. The car runs strong and burns only about 1/2 quart every 3,000 miles. As a side note, the chassis turned over 250,000 miles this weekend. The engine's just a baby at 90,000 miles. I don't do autocrosss or driver's schools (though I might in the future) I like a sporty ride, but one which is compliant as well. Is this possible with the ancient (but not sagging) stock springs? If there was the chance of duplicating the kind of ride/performance tradeoff in my boss's M-Roadster, I think I'd just about wet myself. I know I can't just stick a set of new struts in there and expect miracles, but hey, I can dream can't I??? Anyone want to offer suggestions as to the best way to spend around $500 freshening the suspension?
