I even made one up with an old M1 patch I had....that got Eric Wenberg's attention at The Glen back in '96 <g>! Now that the "new" M5 is upon us, I was hoping that the BMW accessories apparel will soon include some M5 goodies, especially a cap (preferably black of course with the ///M5 Logo). But, I haven't seen anything thus far. Anyone seen or heard if this stuff will be hitting the market anytime soon? Have a good day (60 degrees here in PA today...yipeeee!) Dave, The fill plug on my '85 E30 diff has never been out (because its frozen in place). If you are attempting to change the fluid (and assuming the drain plug comes out), you can refill the diff via the hole where the speed sensor is mounted. After draining, simply remove the speed sensor, pour in the appropriate MEASURED amount of required fluid, and reinstall the speed sensor. When I first got my '91 M5 it had a set of nearly dead Dumflop D40M2s on it. I tracked it (amidst snow and rain) on the small track at Summit Point with no trauma, then later on the big track at Summit Point in the summer sun (in between I'd been running on R1s - real R1s). When the tires should have been warming up nicely it started getting a bit "skittish". I came in early to find that the tread had melted and peeled back in numerous places around the tire. Yowch!
