I'd pull on the handle, but the door was difficult to open. On a few occasions, it wouldn't open at all. My wife got stuck a few times climbing in thru the passenger side. At first I had fears that the hinges or latch were wearing (the car is seven years old after all). But after a good cleaning and lube job the latch works like new. Two fingers will "pop" that door right open. Just thougth I'd pass along this tip for those of you who are like me and may have been puttin off this type of maintenance. BMW seems to be going away from their normal designations. Case in point... as we all know, a 323 is a 325. What's deal? I'm poor. Be nice to me and stuff. So one of the headlights on my '86 528e got cracked by a rock, and the other three aren't looking so hot. The reflectors are getting milky, and the glass is pitted. I could run down to the local auto parts store and buy a pair each of H5001 and H5006 halogens for less than $30 total, but since I'll be replacing them anyway, I figured I'd check into going for a Euro conversion. As much as I would love to purchase a set of Cibies from Daniel Stern along with some 80/100W H4 and 100W H1 bulbs, relays, rock guards, and all that good stuff, I am simply not about to spend $300 on headlights for my $1,800 car. Hellas are only a few bucks cheaper. Certainly, there must be someone on the list who's been adventurous enough to order a set of the Euro conversion lights which JC Whitney (I can't tell you what a kick I get out of posting that company name to a list where people argue about M5s being inadequate) offers. Have any of you ever compared a set of them to a set of Hellas or Cibies and/or the 'stock' lights?
