Now they're coming up with some type of combo GPS and corner-sensing system that will determine ahead of time if you're going in too hot on a turn and slow the car down automatically. Now...this is one option I really want.....so the car is gonna think for me now as I'm too incompetent to set up the corner. Ya think I can retrofit it into my E38? What's with BMW these days? Driver's car my ass when they put stuff like this in it..... 'Course, this could be pretty damn interesting if you run it at the track....Turn 1 at Summit comes to mind. You're goin' down the straight at 130 mph in the Seven and DON'T EVEN HAVE TO HIT THE BRAKES for the upcoming 40 mph right hand turn. How cool is that? <g> Would kinda be like playing Russian Roulette with your car. It seems that BMW is at least getting round to badging its cars homogenously, independently of market, by (presumably) convincing importers to harmonise their efforts. Now all two-door cars will carry the "Ci" badge and the rather nebulous "is" designation is gone. BMW has never been particularly good at accurate nomenclature. Example: the E46 316i and 318i cars both have 1.9 litre engines in them. BMW explained this phenomenon by saying they were trying to establish the badges as actual "names", rather than actual descriptions of the car (so a 316i is always at the bottom, regardless of engine size). Perhaps this is a clue to BMW's future naming strategy for other models. Kind of dumb, really - I much prefer the no-nonsense approach. I don't know the exact weights, but i seem to remember they're on the heavy side. If you call them they'll give you the weights, but i don't believe it till i weigh em :-) The last phone number i had for Team Dynamics was: (909) 947-0114 (So Calif). If you call them direct he should be able to give you a list of dealers, or you might be able to buy them direct if he doesn't charge full list price like Panasport does :-) Or you could get the TSW Imola, probably from Discount Tire Direct.
