When I was a lad, I used to change the oil, the tyres and the points every 30 miles, unless I went faster than 60 mph, in which case I said seven Hail Marys - and I'm not even Catholic - then part-ex'd the car for a new one. > Warm engine, Drain oil, Fill with new oil, Run engine > until oil is warm, Drain oil, Install new filter, Final fill > with new oil Pah. A piffling amateur. Right, what you need to do is drain the oil, and have it sent to the Shell research centre in The Hague for analysis. Wait eight weeks, receive results. Based on results perform a partial strip-down of the engine, and replace every component smaller than the pistons. Rebuild engine, not forgetting to replace all gaskets, hoses and other perishable parts. Fill with oil, new filter, run until warm, drain oil, throw oil away. (Don't forget to throw the original oil away too). Fill with new oil, new filter, run for 1,200 miles - no more - the replace oil and filter again. In case your oil has turned to sludge in that first 1,200 miles (you never know!), the completist may wish to FedEx the 1,200 mile-old oil to Shell again for analysis. Rinse and repeat. Hmmm, it's possible that those "Killer Audi S4s" have the H&R Coilover Kit that's so popular with the VW and Audi crowd. If that's what they're using, then that boots em out of Street Prepared. The H&R Kit uses a threaded body strut, but the rules allow changing or modifying spring perches originally attached to struts. They cannot, however, change the whole strut. In other words they have to retain the original front strut and i'm pretty sure the H&R setup completely replaces it. If this is true, tell em to take it to OSP :-) Besides, a well driven CSP E30 M3 should be able to beat any Audi.... Now if they have a Ground Control setup (which uses modified stock struts) then they're ok in Street Prepared. Does anyone know exactly which coilover setup these Killer Audi's have?
