Subject: [uuc] E30 Starting probs

Howdy all,
Quick question for the E30 experts out there. my 325i has just
started exhibiting a wierd act when attempting to start the car. If I do
not turn the key quick enough the starter motor does not turn, I simply
hear this 'errrring' sound (not very loud) comming from behind the
instrument cluster (could be the engine bay, I am not sure). Has anyone
experienced this problem before?. Could it some sort of contact /
earthing problem?.

Cheers.
        Aaron

Jeff, I have an Alpine in my E30 and a Stellar (Autoloc) in my E34. The
Alpine is the better system. End of story.

Early Saturday morning around 6am I was cruising North on I-405 (Seattle) at
speeds around 110, open roads very few cars. I notice in my rearview a white
Ford pickup with blue lights...I pull over. Thinking to myself, how did he
catch up to me? Where did he come from, and of course glad I wasn't doing
over 100 in an old Ford truck. He takes my license, asks if its my car and
tells me I'm in big trouble. He comes back hands me my license, at this
time my friend points out the 'officer's' badge...FISH and WILDLIFE,as we are
now trying to hold in our laughter, he tells me the speed limit is 60, and
that if I always drive like that, I'd have more tickets...ya think? He lets
me go. I guess its a good thing we didn't have any fish with us.
