I am pasting this post from our Right Hand Drive friend.

Just a quick reminder.

There are still a few positions available for our May driving school. This
will be the last Peachtree school for 2000. After this you will have to wait
until sometime in 2001 to experience Road Atlanta. Remember the Driving
School during Okotberfest is only open to Oktoberfest registrants.

If you would like an application, either download a copy from our website
www.peachtreebmwcca.org or contact Sandra Nissen; (770) 517-7811 or email
mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] and she will be happy to fax you a copy.

Cheers,

It also depends on where the puncture is. If it's on the shoulder, then you're
out of luck. However, if it's somewhere in towards the middle and not near the
shoulder, than using a plug is safe.

Good luck,
Chester

I have a '95 325is with the sport seats. I went to release the seat
back...and nothing. The lever moves up and down with no resistance or
noise, it just happened with no warning. Anyone know how to fix this? The
Bentley doesn't cover this, and before I go tearing into the seat I'm
looking for a little guidance.

Thanks, Marc

...but mine is identical. ;) Clips on all four corners snapped off in a short
time and the rattle took me a little while to track down. The pads were Ok,
not great, but the snapping clips and the ease of swapping out PBR Deluxe pads
for PF90s at the track, not to mention the wonderful braking they provide, has
made me decide to ditch them. Dual-use is always a compromise on both sides.
Spend a little more and get a second set for the track - your wheels will be
cleaner with the Deluxe's and you'll stop better with the 90s.

I have a problem here. I need to get a TC Kline roll bar for my E30
M3 from Waterbury, CT, to Newbury, MA. I assume that to ever get it
into the M3, I would need to remove seats and such, yeah? Anyone know
if it would fit in the back of my '86 GTI with rear seats folded up
and such?

If not, any suggestions on how to do this? It's about 170 miles.
Thanks.

Haven't done an M20 (ehich I assume is what you've got) but
I recently did an M40 318i euro. If the belt is too tight it
will squeel. It sounds like you're due a new one anyway.

Nice touch on the M40 was a wee plastic cover above the
tensioner. You can tension the belt without stripping all
the covers off :-) The Haynes manual for the E36 euro has a
nice method for this but I think the M20 is different. I'll
be doing one of those next month likely.....

That's the TSB performed on my car and it didn't do diddly. There are two
out there: One says turn down the sensitivity on the glass sensor (stopgap,
if you ask me) and the second was actually to replace the unit, because heat
was causing it to expand and set something off. Now, considering your alarm
times at 3 and 4 in the morning, I doubt this one applies to your case. My
unit was replaced and it didn't fix anything.

My suggestion: (which, btw, fixed my alarm a year and a half ago and it's
not gone off once since) pull out the glove box and double check the
connectors, on both the side of the alarm and the side in the chassis. In my
case the connector in the chassis was not secured to its post and as a
result the cable was not hooked up correctly. Once I connected it completely
the problem disappeared.

If you still feel like adjusting the sensitivity, open the cover of the
alarm. It's the only dip switch on the motherboard, and there should be a
sticker nearby explaining the settings. (it's been 18 months, I don't
remember where the sticker was.)

the part that bugs me? the dealer went down there THREE times and didn't
notice this loose connection. (I discovered it 10 minutes into the process
of installing an aftermarket alarm, as I was fed up with the stock one. Once
I found the loose connector I returned the aftermarket one and haven't
looked back since.)

hope this helps. interesting domain name on your email address, btw.

Has anyone heard of this wax, Zymol? I've heard that it's really good for
black cars, and you don't have to worry about swirls. Can I purchase this at
any automotive store? Thanks so much for all responses on this issue. I

Sounds like the car is totalled. You'd better trailer it out here for me.

Jim
Seriously, it could be a bad switch. Try substituting a window switch or one
from a buddy's car to verify. If that does it, try opening the switch up and
using contact cleaner on it.

Celisa,
Zymol is very good wax, some people use nothing but the stuff. However, do
not be confused with the Zymol wax you can buy at Wal-Mart. It is NOT the
same content as the even more expensive stuff you buy from auto-specialty
stores. So....Zymol (from high end dealers and such) is really good stuff,
but you pay for it too. The stuff at Wal-Mart, while pricey enough to get
you to think it's the good stuff, sucks.
Www.CarCareOnline.com has it

Is there a failure for E35 fuel gauges that does NOT involve leaving the key
in the ignition while refueling? I knew of some problem with the gauge that
could be caused by leaving the key in the ignition while refueling, so I
make sure never to do that. Nonetheless, my fuel gauge now works only
intermittently. Sometimes when I turn the car on it will read the correct
level, and sometimes it will register completely empty. This started just
after I had gotten gas; when I turned the car on the gauge registered the
amount of gas that was in the tank before I filled up. I turned it off and
on, and it registered empty. After about ten cycles of the ignition, it
came back, only to fail again the next time I turned the car off. Now it
works maybe every other time I turn the car on. Do I need to replace the
gauge? (I actually have a spare E36 instrument cluster, but I can't figure
out how to get the needles off the gauge spindles-advice on that would be
appreciated too.) I heard something about
a fuse that needs to be pulled to "reset" the gauge; does anyone know what
that fuse is? TIA.

Subject: [uuc] [E36] Plastic cladding under nose of car

I came back from a ~300 mile trip yesterday to find a large piece of plastic
hanging down from behind the front bumper cover. After getting under the
car, I found that: the plastic piece that covers the bottom of the radiator
was split in half and the left half was lost, it looks like whatever plastic
piece that piece attaches to on the left side is gone, and the left brake
duct is gone. I don't have any idea how this could have happened. But I'm
not really sure exactly what is missing. Is there any source of a diagram
of the front under-engine cladding that I could see to see if I can figure
out what exactly is gone? Any ideas what could have caused this? Are these
parts different on an M3 (if they are, I may take the opportunity to just
buy an M3 front bumper cover and be done with it)? Thanks for any advice or
aid.
