Reg (Rejan) Furoy, BMW Canada senior product manager suggested in a response to a similar question from John Levine about his 89 325iC that regular oil change 3 to 4 times a year would provide excellent service, and that the cost of synthetic would not greatly add any value, or words to that effect. He went on to state that synthetic is geared to help more in extended oil service intervals, which have become an industry norm. (Leases and full package service deals and all that) Costs the dealer / manufacturer less if they only have to change your oil once a year or so depending on how you drive. Also remember our cars (by spec, or at least according to the manual), are expected to consume some oil. Factor that in to cost with frequent changes with synthetic on an older car, and you're probably ahead just doing frequent dino oil changes. (3-5k depending on service conditions). Just my thoughts. Others may feel different. Rolf Drommer ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Jun 2001 06:36:06 EDT From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [uuc] misc. photos Very nice pics Chris! If this is a possibility let me know because the local salvage yard has a few of these as well as 4.45's that the E30 M3 crowd is looking for. - ------------------------ offering free help cuz I'm guessing ;-) - ------------------------ Patrick Spikes E30 325 track car for sale....still > > Date: Wed, 27 Jun 2001 22:41:40 -0400 > From: "Brett Anderson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [uuc] Re: Looking for 3.45 Diff > > Bob, 3.45 is a large diff ratio, it won't work in any of the medium housings > you're alluding to. > > 3.46 is what you need. I don't recall if Madonna got to keep one as part of her involvement or not, maybe I just imagined that part of the story. I think the slo-mo really makes the jump scene look silly, otherwise it sort of fits into the flow of the movie. A colleague of mine mentioned them to me, and I had to admit, I had never heard of them. I suspect (do not ask me why) that they may be a rice-culture item, but I am not 100% sure - the country of origin is throwing me off (yet I have not to find anybody in the local DC area that carries them for M3's odd, wouldn't you say?? - however, since I do not know if I really am interested in using the plugs, I haven't tried that hard).
