I have the Kumhos on my 325is (in 235/40/17) and I really like them. I've been impressed with them in dry and in wet. Only had them for a few thousand miles so I don't know about the wear, but they don't seem to be wearing badly. Also, a friend who is used to stock michelins or AVS sports on his M3 has driven my car some and agreed with my positive impression of them. They're no AVS sports, but for $60+ less, they're darn good. I don't think you can do much better for the money. Of course I haven't tried the dunlops and whether or not I know anything about anything is debatable, but thats my two cents anyhow. In addition to the well known front suspension differences I have found that I have rear camber eccentrics where the bottom control arm hooks to the hub. I did not put these on and this thing was bone stock when I got it three years ago. It is unbelievable that a PO would only add rear camber adjusters and nothing else. Plus there is no evidence that there were ever any other suspension mods. My question is anyone else out there have an early e36 that has these camber eccentrics in the rear? If it is a factory piece I am sure there are some stock class racers out there who would love this piece. Keith, I have used both the Dunlop and the Kuhmo's and really like both. If the Dunlop's aren't worn very much, I would opt for those. I havn't had the Kuhmo's long enough to know longevity yet, but can tell you that I got 30K out of the Dunlop's and that was NOT taking it easy in a 95' 325iS. I just put the set of Kuhmo's on the 325iS and can tell you that they are a very predictable tire.
