Mike:

Now that Audi owns Lamborghini, the quality will go
up. Car magazine commented on the build quality of
the latest L. and found it to be quite good. I hear
Ferraris also require major maintenance, but then
Bimmers appear to be maintenance nightmares in
comparison to Hondas and their ilk. Just depends on
how much practicality you can afford to give up for
that extra something.

IMO, the lambo is a hunk of sh*t that only fits in
with the show money crowd anyway.

No, cause I would be telling them about how much better my E-36 was vs the
old, antique technology, bricked shape E-30. wooohooo
But of course by the time you would have pulled up, I would have tried to
talk to them and they would have scattered.

True, I know the latest are pretty decent. I was more just pointing out the
old ones are hunks of crap. I never understood the power of the contach,
its ugly, it was never that fast compared to a 512BB etc.

Honda better than BMW??? own both past 100k and then tell me that. BMW
part prices are CHEAP compared to Honda. I had a 92 accord, never had a
problem with it, but I would not think it could go 250k-350k like my bmws
have. Or I dont want to believe it would without something breaking.

When are you going to get that M5 running again?

what about the 5.0l car w/M5 engine PTG ran at Daytona ?? I think they already
did this once, tho the ALMS/Grand Am thing isn't really clear to me, so I'm not
sure what the deal was exactly.

BMW specifically states that the pre 3/2000 M5 MUST get the Castrol RS
10W60, while all M5's beyond that date can get EITHER.

FWIW, BMW has just informed dealers (this week), that ALL S54 engines MUST
run 10W60.

ALL CARS IN INVENTORY MUST GET OIL CHANGED, A RECALL IS BEING ISSUED TO ALL
OWNERS TO GET INTO A DEALER FOR A FREE OIL CHANGE!!!!!!!!!

After knowing this, are you still concerned about using a thicker oil in
your car?

For those who aren't familiar with it, the WSJ is the Wall Street Journal,
and yes, Kathy Lyle got several column inches in Tuesday's edition.

I, for one, am quite proud of this achievement.... ;-)

I just thought viscosity was viscosity no matter what brand
or type. I've always gone from 5w-30 to 10w-40 once my engines
have gotten over 100K. I would never think of running 10w-60
though. Do they even recommend that for cold weather? Has anyone
checked the PSI ratings on these different viscosities?

Thanks,
1st
