This event is to highlight BMW 2002s in the Central Mid-West. The event will take place in the small historic German village of Hermann, Missouri. Hermann is approximately one hour west of St. Louis, Missouri. The area was selected and settled in 1837 by George Bayer because of its similarity to the Rhine River region. The area boasts of 4 working wineries and a brewery and during month of October the city is host to a month-long Octoberfest celebration. The Mid-America Fest has 20 confirmed participants and is expecting atleast double that number for the actual event. The list of activities will include a concourse, swap meet and a "self-guided" tour of the twisting and turning German countryside and its wineries. And I respond: It's nice that you have no problem staying awake on the road, but not all of us are as blessed (and I do mean that - I'd give up a lot to be able to be one of those folks who can drive all night long) If it weren't for books on tape or the occasional phone call to distract me, I'd be a greasy spot on a bridge pillar by now. Curiously, loud music does nothing more than entertain me until I fall asleep, but having to process speech keeps my brain relaxed and alert for hours on end. If anyone has any better way to stay awake on the road, I'm certainly open to suggestions. I just found out today (haven't driven the car much since then) and I am preparing to replace them. I am aware of the e12 mount swap and the Turner reinforcements, but I'm exploring other options. If anyone is willing to measure some parts on their car, I would like height (vertical thickness) measurements of the following engine mounts: e12 (early 5 or 6 series car) e28 535 e28 M5 e24 635 (same as e28?) e24 M6 Also, if anyone has tried any of these mounts, let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if you're in Pittsburgh there is beer in it for you! But to snake the wire I removed the light above the sun visor. The A pillar trim just pulled off. I think you need to push it up and pull. I just pulled and it didn't look like it damaged anything. I also stuck a long screwdriver from the door trim to the opening of the lamp to create a small channel to snake the wire through. ...steven ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Jul 2001 16:52:02 -0500 From: "Alex Cagann" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [uuc] <E34 M5> questions re: euro vs US I am gathering information for a client regarding the E34 M5 cars. I was surfing EbayMotors under M3, and saw someone wanting about 60 grand for a "topaz blue" (new color) M3 with SMG. What I'd not heard on this list first, despite my bright headlamp threads et al, was anything about how this new headlamp system operates on both low and high beam. I did see a smidgeon of discomforting Roundel editorializing that stated that DOT/US government wouldn't approve of it...i.e, the US being 20 years behind the rest of the world in lighting updates, etc. Anyone know how this system works, and if it may not make it to this side of the pond. This seller also claimed the 2002 (?) M3 will have daylight sensor headlamps...what is this, a xenon Cadillac Sentinel system? Of course, he had to say that his spot will be one of the first, if not the first SMG M3 in the states..let's get his real name and see if the equipment spec proves him right come November! Here's to bi-xenon (no pun? they can't really call it that can they?!) Because they might not be salable to the general public, banks don't want to loan money on them because the collateral is worth less and harder to dispose of. Insurance companies don't like them because it is harder to forecast the cost of a repair or replacement in case of a loss. In the old days, we thought them less safe because they might not have split braking systems, flame resistant interior fabrics and the like. That mindset is hard ot overcome in the money industry. My car is an 88 325iX. My problem consists of a mushy pedal on the first couple pumps. This is accompanied by a quick pull to the right before the things even out. This led me to believe I had some air in addition to a sticking piston on the front left. I spent a good portion of the day today taking everthing apart to pop the pistons out and clean things up. To my surprise there was no rust or corrosion on either side up front. The pads have roughly half their life left. Once everything was put back together I bled the fluid without the aid of a power bleeder. I fear that my master cylinder is going bad....although I don't think it would maintain pressure as it does after a couple pumps if that were the case. Maybe I need to use a pressure bleeder? Could there be air in the ABS?? Any help welcome.....not the safest way to be driving around. You'll get 4 lug bolts with plastic caps and 2 adapter key things. These are similar to the McGard wheel locks. Oh, and when you loose the first adapter key thing, replace the set before you loose the second key thing. Or order a new adapter key thing from the dealer. There's 40 different codes, so make sure you're getting the right one.
