Rumor has it that the Bosch silver plugs are the answer to all kinds of rough idle problems. In my experience, the platinums are _not_ the answer to a rough idle. I will not put those back into my engine again. I will go back to the copper plugs or try the silvers, but no platinum. Horrible idle quality. I replaced the rubber boot from the air box to the throttle plate and the o-rings on the fuel injectors. It turns out that they weren't my problem (check engine light), but it did help a bit. Search for 'auxiliary fan' and you will find it. Normally, the aux. fan runs at two speeds: 'slow' when AC is on and 'hi' whenever the engine is overheating. Try jumping the coolant temperature switch to see if the fan will turn at high speed. If it doesn't run at all the electrical itself is bad and needs to be replaced (~$300 parts alone). If the aux. fan does run at high speed, then the slow speed resistor is fried (very common). It's a 1"x3" rectangular block screwed to the aux. fan at around 10 o'clock position. Barely visible behind the front bumper. I have purchased an E28 manual seat bracket and need suggestions on what type of seat to use and where to get them (i.e. stock BMW, Flofit, Recaro) I wonder what seats Bill and Tammi had in the E28 One Lap car? 2) Do any of you folks have a nice used sport seat available? Prefer black cloth but will entertain others. 3) Has anyone used Boge Turbo Gas shocks on an E28 with stock or aftermarket springs? 4) Is it possible to clean the inside of the airflow meter? Isn't there some type of resistance track in there that can dirty up over time?
