I had checked the fuses and relays by swapping with my 89 iC and nothing came of it. I suspected the harness and kept putting off going into the harness. One day Don Udel and I attacked it with a vengeance. Don is a EE sort of guy (as opposed to ME me) with a huge dollop of good old third world troubleshooting ability and in no time we had reverse engineered the entire turn signal and headlamp circuit. About 30-40 mins. Still no go! In the process we swapped fuses with the right side by mistake. Voila! Right side out, left side on! The fuse looked good, but was bad! Don't forget the white lithium grease! Also, note that my shifter has side-to-side slop again in 2 years time. I am using the delrins and had renewed all the above parts, but I'm not sure where the slop is coming from as of now. It could be lash in the delrin bushings, wear in the washers on either side of the selector linkage or something inside the transmission. What this means is that results vary from car to car. Math is a language too. If Engineers threw random mathematical symbols into calculations or technical descriptions, your car would never make it off the drawing board. Forget the car; the drawing board would fall apart. Bottom line: rules for apostrophes are simple: 1) Plurals (more than one of whatever it is): NO apostrophe. Example: One BMW. Two BMWs. Three donuts. 2) Possessive (something owns something else): YES, use an apostrophe. Examples: The BMW's foglight was broken again. Jane's van backed into Billy's BMW. Fred's BMWs were unscathed as all four were in storage. Rare exceptions: a) "It's" works the opposite way because of the "it is" contraction. No, it does not make sense. Contractions rate over plurals, I suppose. b) Possessive plurals: When talking about a possession shared by many of the same thing, we run into a little bit of confusion. Where does that apostrophe go? All BMWs have wheels. How do we refer to those wheels? BMWs's wheels? Obviously not. The apostrophe goes after the "s" pluralization. Example: All BMWs' wheels are round. c) Words that end in "s" get the same treatment as possessive plurals. Example: Fred Jones' BMW ran over my foot. If you have read this far and make even a tiny note to yourself that this sort of thing is of some importance to people (such as myself) who actually value what you have to write, then you have my thanks. Moly (molybdenum disulfide, as I understand the term) is used in differential oils as an Extra Pressure additive and is used in greases. However, it also attacks copper and copper-containing alloys. Since some engines have bearings that have copper backing materials and some have brass bushings, use of Moly in engines whose metallurgy is unknown is a risky practice. This actually is a bit relevant to the list because we discuss model years so frequently and list them in our signatures. When forming a contraction, the point of the apostrophe is to replace the missing character(s). Hence "do not" becomes "don't" (missing 'o' replaced), and Rob's example of "it is" becoming "it's". Well, the same applies to year abbreviations. 1994 --> '94, not 94' or "94" or any of the other loopy combinations of quotations, apostrophes, and numerals I've seen. ("I've" came from "I have", but now I am getting redundant.) Now, since I am too lazy to go pull out my _Elements_of_Style_ from the bookshelf upstairs (yes, I have it), I'll pose a question: when using quotes around a word at the end of a sentence, does the period belong inside or outside the closing quotation mark?
