Installing directionals on backwards will cause internal belt separation and will shortly thereafter result in the tire coming apart. I know this to be the case as of a few years ago with a set of Goodyear Eagles, they were installed incorrectly by a tire store and less than 50 miles later at 60mph, the left front tire blew out. I was told by Goodyear that this was an installation problem and would be covered by the installer, which it was. I was sitting in a line of cars waiting for a state insp. with nothing better to do than play with the OBC and read the Owner's Manual, when I came across the 'Parked Car Ventilation Feature'. Couldn't get it to work. Is this an optional feature? Luckily he could get replacement stuff cheaper than mere mortals. Based on his experience I'm not sure I care if it's on my '95 Touring. Shoulda used it this past weekend but I was parked in NH and wouldn't want to get stranded up there even if most of the best techs in the country are there. At any rate, I don't know if you can program that with the car running. In that mode it works like a timer doesn't it? Come to think of it, I don't think I could use a timer function in mine because it was for the PCV. I remember being able to turn the fan on and off with it but didn't try the timer. I'd consider, at the very least, substituting the E46 tri tips for the E36 pork chops. OTOH, if you're not taking the M3 to the track, the lack of protein is probably not such a big deal. The last time I was present when a car lost a splash shield was at a GGC autocross in the 3 Com (Candlestick) Park parking lot (dips, bumps, potholes). The car was an SFPD police car. The officer did not even know that the CLANK was a part falling off his car. He left without waiting to find out his time. I guess he knew we all had him beat.
