This past autocross season, we had 3 E36 vehicles in one day, and 4 in two months fail at our autocross events... Two were able to make it home... two of them had to be towed.. Mileage varied between 46K and 72K... I believe the same radiator is on some of the E39 vehicles... we had one of those fail at an event last year as well... that owner was also able to drive home with a minor leak... I'm not asking them to straighten out my URL. :) Did your wheels come back with any scratching on them from the straightening tools? That's my primary concern - that I'll get back a round wheel with a substantial gouge through the finish. IIRC, January's issue is typically a few days later than my normal delivery the other 11 months. If history prevails, I should get my January issue this week. I don't know when your normal delivery is but I would give your January issue a few extra days. I have always assumed the delivery of the January issue is delayed somewhat for one or more of the following reasons: - - New year so typically any new changes to the format or magazine layout are implemented, - - Most challenging time to get all the writing submissions in from all the contributors in December, - - Holiday delays at the printers, advertisers, etc., - - Postal crunch of the season. How the heck do you corner on this thing??? Has anyone tried it? I would think only two wheels drive the bike. How can two normal motorcycle tires handle 500 horsepower and the insane amount of torque from a motor of this type along with the 1,500 lb weight???!? Also, some of the other picture captions quote 400 mph....so which is it, 300 mph or 400 mph?? I don't want to be gypped for my $250,000. There are a total of 4 arms, two lower and two upper (AKA Thrust arms) for the E34. BMW original lower arms are aluminum, and the upper arms are steel. FYI--The E34 aluminum lower control arms will fit in place of the steel E28/E24 lower arms. It is not known whether the balljoints are any stronger, though. Especially on this one. I suspect a careless combination of throttle and clutch on that thing could land you squarely under a screaming V10 powerplant w/o ever achieving any significant speed at all. Good way to go for a Darwin award. The claimed acceleration rate puts it a shade above 1g forward. Combined with it's cornering ability, you could have a similar experience much more cheaply: Jump off a 12 story building.
