What kind of store should I look for locally that might carry these lamps? Radio Shack doesn't appear to carry anything I need. Mail order doesn't seem wise- at $3 each I won't order more than I need but then what I buy isn't worth paying shipping & handling fees either. That's why I'd like to find something local as the wife is getting cranky about the missing sunroof switch :). The original material does have a pattern on it. You will also find that these folks charge as much for the material as you paid for the Recaro's! I passed on it. When I had my Recaro's redone I had a local third generation place do mine. The cost was $125 a seat including labor and materials. I just went and dug through their materials bin to I found a material close to the original. The name of the place I used is Jesse and Son, it's in Baton Rouge, La. But I'm sure there are a number of local upholsterers that won't charge you much more. There was a guy who lived behind me in Fullerton that worked out of his garage and did the bench seat in an old Ford truck of mine for $100. You might find the bulbs there. I would be surprised if you could get the sunroof switch from anywhere but the dealer or a junk yard without a special order. What's the hangup in buying from the dealer? My local dealer (admittedly it is a huge dealership - Momentum BMW in Houston) has a good selection of parts in stock and, with my BMW CCA discount, quite competitive prices.
