Is there an adapter plug/socket that makes this fairly easy?? One of the BMW techs I've spoken with alludes to a TIS bulletin of many years ago that describes how to do this and what parts are required, but he can't put his hands on it. Anyone out there (Brett?) who might recall this bulletin or know of another way other than a full blown splicing/soldering/connecting/etc. process?? I know of an aftermarket connector that connects to the e36's wiring harness to allow the connection the wiring harness of aftermarket units, but nothing that will plug into the back of the e36 head unit with pigtails to convert the head unit to other vehicles. There must be a kluge out there that works. BTW there is no need for CD changer controlling functions as the e30 will never have this feature! Coming back to Wisconsin on a car purchasing trip to Indiana, the clutch pedal decided to not come back up from the floor. If I lifted it w/my foot, the clutch pedal worked fine, at least until the next stop when at least once I would have to pull it back up. When it was staying on the floor, the clutch remained engaged. Am I looking at replacing the clutch slave? Might it be something else? Fluid in the resevoir is appropriate and brakes have been flushed many times, though I've never flushed the slave cylinder. Also, a minor issue w/cruise control on the same car. Cruise works; hit brakes, disengage, hit resume and it engages. BUT, hit brakes second time and cruise will not engage, either w/resume or by trying to restart it. The brake switch had been replace a number of years ago, but might it still be this switch or something else? It was built in the early 80s and is very stoutly constructed. It has one new wheel and tire, the other is older but has lots of tread. New 2in hitch, new lights all the way around, recent bearings on both sides with one spare set. It is not very pretty but works fine. First it hauled the family dirt bikes around and then I used it to haul ladders and cleaning gear for my business. Now have larger vehicle for business and no bikes.
