All this talk of wipers... thought I'd chime in. I bought a set of those
wildly expensive silicone jobs from PIAA while ago... and, WOW - do these
things do an *awesome* job. So much better than anything I've ever used.
I've always reconditioned my blades with a bit of silicone spray every few
weeks (so there's a thin coating of silicone on my glass all the time)... this
combined with silicone blades absolutely rocks.

Funny.

And what's worse is that had the deal been good, and the car arrived, this
idiot would have had a $55,000 M5 Coffee Table.

It will cost almost as much as the car to get a post Jan 96 vehicle EPA and
DOT approved simply because none of them are wired for OBDII diganostics.

I've done them on a customer's car and he loves them. 91 M5 that I put a 6spd
and 3.45 in, along with the brakes.

Hi Abe,

We put together a kit that replicates the 95 M5, using all factory parts.

Thanks

Where are you guys? I'm in Toronto. What would be approximate cost of the whole job.

They are still available through BMW parts departments and World Wide Auto Parts.

>>>> I posted this to the E36M3 list back in November 2002:

I know we had a lot of discussion regarding the availability of Bosch wiper refills.
I looked into this and found the same thing, limited availability and no availability
locally. One person pointed out Parts America (i.e., Advance Auto Parts) and I found
they had them according to their on-line website (none in their local stores at all)
but their shipping was exorbitant (like $14 for a few sets of refills).

Anyway, I found that World Wide Auto Parts (http://www.nosimport.com) at 800-362-1025
had them and the pricing was as follows per pair of refills:

                        WWAP Parts America

Bosch 43321 $7.78 $8.99
Bosch 43320 $6.39 $6.99

Anyway, I spoke to a Jane Campbell at WWAP. It sounds like they have most of the
refills in stock (mine shipped the same day) and they had reasonable UPS Ground
shipping.

I asked why the availability of the Bosch refills was so slim based on the list
comments and my personal results. She told me that Bosch is in midst of a running
change over and they are converting to a different type of blade/refill where the new
refill will have the structural metal piece integrated (rather than separate in the
current refill) and they the refill may be wider (she wasn't sure if the new refills
would be compatible or not with the old applications, likely not). Currently, Bosch
is telling them they will continue to make the old refills available. She had no
explanation as to why all the local outlets stopped carrying them and we speculated it
may have something to do with how they manage inventory (only wanting to carry one
line, the newest line, when it comes out) or they are going away from Bosch for other
business reasons, etc.

Best regards,

Rich

Anyone have experience with Rondell wheels? Their web site is not very specific
on whether the wheels are simply cast aluminum or forged. If the latter I'd
would expect they'd say so.

Kevin,
They are cast, heavy but cheap wheels.
Ronal's sole distributor in the US is notoriously unreliable. Very few
people go back to buy from him again.
