Just wanted to follow up with everyone on the no-start condition on the 325iC. My new fuel pump came in Friday. Changed it out and the car fired right up. I had received feedback that E30 fuel pumps are common to fail at 150K - mine had 159K. Thanks so much to everyone who helped with ideas. The Bentley troubleshooting procedure is first notch, too. As an aside: my pump came complete with an O-ring, so it wasn't necessary to order one as a separate item. And still stay on pump gas. > Thanks, Jay Depends what you mean by "that difficult," and whether you're talking about a streetable car. The Eurosport/Conforti Cam System gets the US 3.2 up to around 290 hp and improves torque. But I'd call cams "bolt-in" rather than "bolt-on." You can only improve volumetric efficiency so far. Much beyond that and you'll need more revs, which means converting to solid lifters and who knows what else, plus unknown (to me, anyway) effects on longevity and reliability. The 321 hp Euro version had all that plus 6-intake butterflies and double VANOS to keep it all usable. Then there's always forced induction... How much horsepower do you want? How much money do you have? <g> Neil 96 M3 ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Feb 2003 08:14:31 -0500 From: "Gary Derian" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [uuc] More A Zeus fastener is for holding lightning bolts to a toga. Here's the details of what he's looking for: * Preferrably a '95 but will consider newer * MUST be a manual, slushboxes need not apply * sedan is fine for newer models * He likes silver * reasonable mileage, maybe 70k or less * good maintenance history, good records * mods ok * will travel for the right car * price range is up to $25k, less is better but the right car is important You can reply directly to me and I'll forward the info on to him. With the improvement in the boiling resistance of Dot 4 fluid, Dot 5 is used less in racing. I doubt there are many if any BMW Club Racers who use DOT 5. And just to make the whole thing moot ... I can't possibly imagine any mechanic putting DOT 5 silicon based fluid in a street car -- except by customer request, major mistake, or serious cluelessness.
